  6. dear-as a music major…you can save your breath.
    Its all about MONEY.
In case you missed the reason why our nation has no respect for music education and the power "music" has on our lives.

Its MONEY MONEY MONEY- Music doesn't make money in highschools and athletes still do. Since so many people ONLY have "glory days" of their sports programs and donate money to them. Notice the 'Money trail" really. Be a business woman about this. UIL brings fame to the school, that is why they do it. So lets focus on the charitable trust for the band or choir. Most times by highschool kids are hard to focus since they are all hormones and if you don't have the basics in music its too late to start. Wrong….. their needs to be a beginner program for all grades in all music theory.

When was the last time a donor who played clarinet or tuba, dropped two grand into the band program? See my point. If it CAN happen, then make it. happen.

Make a change. I have faith in you. Get sponsors for those big band trips, and set up an alumni program for music.

Have a spagetti dinner for the BRASS of the Past.!
"Spagetti and Strings" give them a private show and food, $20 per person or $40 for four top table, trust me, with the right support, you can make several thousand dollars that night. Done it. Money talks baby….that's the sad reality.

We had "Big band nights" and the band/ choir each did 15 minute programs and even the local dance schools would come and practice dancing "swing" while the band played.
It was easy, fast fun and profitable. We practied at local nursing homes for weeks prior to it.

Also we did a Holiday Jubilee- with christmas singalongs and family fun. ALL choir/ band and theater department.
It was fun and the students worked really hard to make these memories.

Ask me how I know- I am a music teacher…. how much to I make at my job? NOTHING…. It means so much to me that kids learn music that I volunteer 10 hours a week to it.
Can you do the same? I believe that YOU are our furture…. if you love Band so much, then Drumcore your way to the School board and let the choir sing!

Whatever you're experience with American sports, I can guarantee watching a football match in England in a sold out stadium will eclipse. What you need to do is go to the club's website (whichever club you want to see play) and call the contact number, they will tell you what to do from there. Be warned though: tickets can be quite expensive, ranging in the hundreds of pounds. But its worth it.

If you dont know which club you want to see, I suggests watching a few premier League matches on the t.v before choosing your club. At the moment, some of the greatest clubs with the greatest stadium's are Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool.

Hailing from Bloomfield, Connecticut, Smith attended the Watkinson School; he played varsity soccer all four years, garnering All-State honors during his junior and senior campaigns. In addition, as a testament to his immense speed and athleticism, Johann Smith had many exploits on the school's Track and Field team. Smith, a keen sprinter, once ran the 100 metres in 10.5 seconds.

Colleges are looking for well rounded students. Sometimes that includes athletics sometimes not. It depends whether you or not you plan to use athletics in college sometimes (play sports, scholarships,etc..), sometimes it depends on the college you wish to attend. Until you can get into a sport, if you so choose to, look into doing something else. Volunteer work, student internship with a teacher, tutoring, anything that may interest you as far as and extra-curricular, but remember that your grades are important, so don't take on anything that will start to make your grades slip.
