The Culture of Soccer
Soccer has its own culture. The culture of soccer games does not only refer to new soccer, soccer items in sports sections, soccer rumours and gossip, but also to many sociological, political and economic aspects of the game. The term “soccer” is popular in countries where this kind of sport is not as popular as others, but in many countries, it is referred to simply as soccer.
The soccer fans are divided into “tournaments”. These are the matches between competitors, who receive broad support from the fans. The soccer matches in these cases often resemble political and social battles, rather than sporting championships. This socio-historical aspect of tournaments is also underlined by the fact that many clubs are seen as rivals traditional, historical point of view. Soccer news and articles on soccer in general to pay particular attention to the long rivalry between the clubs and try to foresee the possibility of chances to win.
The differences between soccer clubs also socio-political and economic characteristics, most often a long tradition. The rivalry may be based on territorial differences, while reading region against region on historical differences, when one of the clubs continually suffered the defeat on political differences and so forth.
Soccer has its own large industry banners, scarves and hats with the team symbol, different signs expressing their support for the team. Various attributes of soccer, as soccer balls signed by the teams, are regarded as precious souvenirs, and serve a portion of the soccer industry. The importance of soccer in today’s society is an issue widely recognized in many socio-political discussions.

I have a soccer tournament this week and if i make the championships i have a game on monday…?I have a soccer tournament this week and if i make the championships i have a game on monday. but on sunday i was going to sleepover my friends house and then got to seasides on monday morning……..should i let my team not make it to the championships or should i not got o seasides with my two besties i havent seen in a long time? Please help?

I don't know about 'hating' soccer. But I think it's very important, as an American, to make fun of soccer.
1) England, Spain & Italy : these countries have major leagues that most Footballers want to go to and there's great action in the matches here.(others would be – Germany, France, Scotland (I think)
2) The Clubs/ Countries : You don't have to favor any but its all up to you. Being fan (of Man. Utd./Portugal) its nice to get that rush to see your team move up (in the standings) or win against a bitter rival.
3) The legends/soon-to-be-legends : Pele, Maradona/Ronaldinho, Kaka, etc. They make it seem more beautiful (match/sport) with their tricks or play or for some – the legacy they left behind
4) Fans – 'course you have the legends but fans make it happen . If you're watching it on tv- you can feel the craziness, the excitement and If you're like me – you'd jump up and down hoping your team would score and scream like crazy when they do, vice-versa. (but I wouldn't expect you to)
5) Love of the sport!!!! : its practically what fans breath, eat, sleep, (you get the picture). If you don't love it – there is no hope blogging about it.

I'm American (born and raised) and thought I didn't like American football, until I visited Australia; where they play rugby. I loved it! It's basically football without all the protective gear and ugly costumes.
It just has to do with a difference in culture. Why do they eat deep fried tarantulas in some cultures, and in America we wouldn't dare eat those creepy creatures, yet we'll chomp on a lobster (sea roach) in a heartbeat?
One of the reasons that Americans may not like soccer is that it seems to homoerotic, like wrestling. America is still quite homophobic. With soccer, you see guys hugging each other, helping each other stretch, kissing each other, etc..
I love watching Europeans play football. They're so enthusiastic about it. It's almost like it's their life. We americans have a long way to go to catch up. Poor Beckham, he tried.
I wish I could go to FIFA in '10. Last time I rooted for the Italians.

Futbol is a passion. Every little kid plays wants to be like Ronaldo, Maradona, Pele, Valderrama, Beckham, or Roberto Carlos. Futbol is not as complicated (money for equipment) as other major sport. For soccer all you need is a ball and the goal can be anything sometimes you don't even need a goal. Futbol is so big that when your national team plays everything stops, even the churches close during game time. The world cup is the biggest event in the sport, is when the best teams of the world get to fight for the title of World Champions. Even if your country does not make to the final, you still want to see the greatest teams battle it out.
